First Nordic-Baltic Textile Circularity Forum

The Nordic-Baltic Textile Circularity Forum 2026 will bring together researchers, innovators, policymakers, businesses, NGOs, and other key stakeholders working to advance textile circularity in Europe and the Nordic-Baltic region.

 

The two-day programme will connect European-level innovation with regional priorities, offering space for knowledge exchange, practical demonstrations, policy discussion, and networking.

 

On 7 October, the programme will focus on the work of tExtended, a Horizon Europe project aiming to reduce textile waste in the EU by 80%. The day will highlight high-potential results across different parts of the textile value chain, explore the preconditions and barriers to systemic change, and feature demonstrations of digital tools developed within the project.

 

On 8 October, the focus will shift to the Nordic-Baltic region. The programme will include discussions on the current state of textile circularity, presentations from promising innovators, and a policy debate on Extended Producer Responsibility. The day will also open a conversation on priority areas for future action, supported by the Nordic-Baltic Textile Transition Group.

 

The speaker lineup brings together leading experts in circular textiles, research, policy, and innovation. Confirmed speakers include Lars Fogh Mortensen, Circular Economy Expert at the European Environment Agency; Pirjo Heikkilä, Principal Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland; Ali Harlin, Principal Scientist at VTT and co-founder of Infinited Fiber Company and Rester; Kerli Kant Hvass, Assistant Professor in Circular Economy at Aalborg University and founder of REVALUATE; Viktorija Nausede, co-founder and CEO of LOOPTEX; and Dace Akule, circular textiles expert from the environmental NGO Green Liberty.

 

Participants will also have the opportunity to discover practical and market-ready circular solutions from pioneering companies, including De Kringloopwinkel, PURFI Manufacturing, Têxteis J.F. Almeida, and Cyclothe.

 

We also warmly invite practitioners from across the Nordic-Baltic region to present their circular textile solutions in the exhibition area. Those interested in showcasing their work can indicate this in the registration form.

 

The Forum is organised through the cooperation of two initiatives:

 

tExtended — a four-year Horizon Europe project working towards systemic transformation in textile circularity across the EU.

 

The Nordic-Baltic Textile Circularity project — a regional collaboration funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Offices in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
